What do you record?

The flow captures the birth outcome and the new animal record without splitting the context.

  • Live or still-birth outcome and the birth date.
  • Single or twin birth details.
  • Tag, sex, and dam link for a live calf.
  • Post-birth follow-up tasks when the relevant protocol is enabled.

Complete calving in three steps

The dam, outcome, and calf details stay in the same sequence.

Open the dam record

Start calving from the animal profile or quick action, then confirm that you are working on the correct dam.

Enter the outcome

Record whether the birth was live or still, whether one calf or twins were born, and the date shown in the farm record.

Complete calf details

For a live birth, add tag and sex, then review the link between the new calf record and the dam.

What can you review later?

A completed flow leaves traceable history for the dam and each live calf.

  • Find the calving event on the dam's timeline.
  • Check the dam link from the live calf's identity record.
  • Read calvings beside other reproduction records for the selected reporting period.
  • Follow post-birth work in the agenda when its protocol is enabled.

Operator notes

The calving flow needs connectivity, and its outcome must reflect the observation on the farm.

Is a live calf linked to the dam?
